Hon. Stephen Olukayode Ogundipe AKA (Omoj’omolo) a Lagos House of Assembly candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Oshodi-Isolo Constituency 1 won the primary election conducted on Friday, May 2th, 2022 as supporters stormed Lagos street in jubilation.

Hon. Stephen Olukayode Ogundipe defeated the incumbent, Hakeem Olusola Sokunle, for Oshodi-Isolo Constituency 1 ticket.

Otunba Ogundipe scored 20 votes as against Sokunle’s 4 votes and will fly the APC’s flag for the constituency’s assembly seat during the general election.

The primary election was held at the Cooperative hall of the local government on Oyetayo Street, Oshodi-Isolo Constituency 1 has 25 ad-hoc delegates drawn from five wards.

Ogundipe in his statement said: “I am indeed very happy to express my profound gratitude to you all for your kind support from the electioneering campaign period till this victory hour.”

“I thank His Excellency, Governor Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the Apex Leader in Oshodi Pa J.O Olabimtan, the Distinguished Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, the Hon. Commissioner for Housing; Hon. Moruf Akinderu Fatai, the Executive Chairman of Oshodi/Isolo Local Government; Hon Kehinde Almoroof-Oloyede, Alh Kehinde Olorunoje, Alh. Dr. Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya MC Oluomo and all other notable leaders in the Constituency for their support and most importantly the success recorded in the primary election including my co-contestant for participating in the fair contest allowing the wishes of the people to stand.”

“Dear fellow party men and women, I congratulate us all for making it this far as I wish to state that we still have a very vast distance to cover. The only winner here is you, all members and lovers of our great party in Oshodi, so let us unite and ensure that APC wins in all subsequent elections to have more seats for our dear party as we resolve all conflicts and differences internally.”

“I promise to do things differently as I will also continue my selfless services to the people of Oshodi and the Lagos State at large.”
