A 46-year-old woman has been jailed for 6-years after stabbing her boyfriend over cheating claims. According to reports, the convict, Janet Kearns, committed the crime because her boyfriend texted her “happy birthday” instead of calling her on phone to wish her, hence he was cheating.
The convict allegedly went to the victim’s house to demand an explanation why he didn’t call instead. During the confrontation, the convict stabbed him in his arm with a six-inch kitchen knife as he was calling the police for help. She watched as he collapsed to the floor after the wound severed an artery, leaving him in a pool of blood.
The victim, Pearce, was rushed to a hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery for his wounds but still has trouble moving his right hand.
He’s had plastic surgery to fix the deep wounds and may have to be operated on again. Sharing his experience, the victim said “When I was lying on the lobby floor losing blood and getting weaker by the minute, I thought I might die. If it was not for the quick response of police officers and paramedics I would not be here today. I will always be grateful to them.
“How could she be so callous just walking past me as I was on the floor bleeding to death? I still don’t have a sense of feeling in my right, index and middle fingers and part of my thumb. The scars will always be with me mentally and physically but they won’t hold me back.”
